The Canadian College of Medical Genetics endorses the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada Position Statement on the use of Acetaminophen for Analgesia and Fever in Pregnancy, issued in September 2025. There are many known causes and risk factors for autism, and there are many factors likely still to be discovered. Acetaminophen exposure in pregnancy under a physician’s direction is unlikely to be a significant risk factor for autism according to the best evidence.
